Seattle Tae Kwon Do to Honor Mountlake Terrace Police Officers

In late November 2009 in response to slain Police officer Timothy Brenton and the killed Lakewood Police Officers, Master Brandon Richards the director of Seattle Tae Kwon Do in Mountlake Terrace took action, by collecting donations from the students at Seattle Tae Kwon Do to help the families of the fallen Officers. Master Richards, whose father was a Whatcom County Deputy Sherriff could identify with the families and wanted to take action to help them in this time of crisis. He collected funds and purchased T-Shirts from KOMO AM 1000 Commentators Radio Show. 100% of the proceeds of these shirts went directly to the Officer’s Families. In addition to this Brandon Richards matched every dollar raised by his students, thus doubling the money collected. These shirts were then purchased and will be donated to the Offices of the Mountlake Terrace Police Department on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 6:30pm at the Mountlake Terrace Police Department located 5906 232nd St. SW, Mountlake Terrace, WA. 40 Shirts, plus 40 hand written “Thank you” cards from the children of Seattle Tae Kwon Do will go to the officers in appreciation of their service.

All students, friends and family members are welcome to meet us at the Mountlake Terrace City Hall on Tuesday, Feb. 23rd at 6:30pm for the presentation.
